Book My Tale creates personalised, illustrated storybooks for children that celebrate their identity, family and culture. Parents customise a story online, preview it, and receive a printed, gift-ready keepsake — all backed by a payments, production and fulfilment pipeline that has to keep pace with a growing international customer base.
WHAT WE DID
NFN Labs worked with the Book My Tale team as an ongoing product and engineering partner, rebuilding the checkout experience, automating print production, and consolidating operations that used to run across two disconnected systems into one.
Our work included:
Rebuilding cart, checkout and payments end to end — Razorpay integration for UPI, cards and net-banking, automatic currency switching by geolocation, a proper multi-book cart with a "Buy now" fast path, and a fully responsive, mobile-first flow
Automating the entire print-production hand-off — RGB to CMYK conversion, page assembly into print-ready PDFs, bleed lines and trim marks, cover sizing, order-ID stamping and consistent file naming, cutting an estimated 10–15 minutes of manual work per order between the team and their print partner, saving hours of manual work per month
Building shipping and fulfilment automation that exports order and customer data straight into Shiprocket-ready files, removing manual re-entry of addresses and order details
Adding multi-book bundles and tiered discounts, and reorganizing the cart, navigation and copy so families see savings before checkout
Automating customer emails for order confirmation, payment confirmation and production updates
Consolidating two separate admin tools into a single operations dashboard — order lookup, customer and shipping info, CSV exports, multi-select actions, a waiting list, and customer lookups all in one place
Migrating book previews onto an optimized rendering flow, cutting preview generation from 3–5 minutes down to seconds thus reducing bounce rate
The result is a platform that runs on far fewer manual steps than before — faster for customers, lighter on the team, and easier to scale as order volume grows.
